When new hosts join a weighted event type, their bookings are adjusted proportionally to account for bookings existing hosts already have.
Weight adjustment = (bookings of existing hosts / sum of existing weights) x new host weight
= 14 / 300 x 50 = 2.33
The new host is credited with 2 bookings, keeping the rotation fair from the moment they join.

01 How does round robin host rotation work?
Round robin rotation assigns each new booking to the next available host. Cal ID checks every host's calendar, filters out anyone who is busy, then picks the highest-priority host who is free. When hosts tie, the least recently booked host is chosen so bookings stay evenly split.
02 What happens when two hosts have the same priority?
When two free hosts share the same priority, Cal ID gives the booking to whoever was booked least recently. If they are still tied, it falls back to a random pick, so no single host quietly absorbs every meeting.
03 Do I have to enable weights?
No. Weights are optional. Every host starts at 100% and the rotation is even by default. Turn on weights only when you want someone to take more or fewer bookings than the rest of the pool.
04 What is a fixed host?
A fixed host attends every meeting for an event type while the other hosts rotate around them. It is useful when a manager or specialist must join every call but you still want the second seat shared fairly.
05 What happens when a new host joins an existing rotation?
New hosts are credited with a proportional share of existing bookings so they do not receive a flood of meetings on day one. Cal ID calculates the credit from the current bookings and weights, keeping the split fair from the moment they join.
06 Which calendars does round robin check?
Round robin checks real-time availability from Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar, and any other calendar you connect. If a host is busy on any connected calendar, they are skipped for that slot.
07 Is round robin free?
Round robin is available on the Business plan at $5 per user per month, billed annually. Individual scheduling with unlimited bookings and event types is free forever on the Startup plan.
